ARTS ENTERPRISE

This award celebrates an enterprise that has successfully incorporated strategic skills which have generated tangible commercial outcomes for the arts and cultural sector – in other words, that it has generated an income.

Creative enterprise projects and strategies can include: fundraising activities, audience development initiatives, the creation of new markets and export opportunities or partnerships which boost entrepreneurialism in the sector.

Arts enterprise is about enhancing the sustainability of an organisation and the sector it is aligned with.

Previous recipients in this award include:

• Adelaide Festival Centre – Scenery and Engineering Workshops

• Fringe Benefits

A significant component of the enterprise must have occurred between 1 July 2010 and 30 June 2011.

THE AWARDS ARE OPEN TO:

  • individual artists
  • arts workers
  • organisations
  • volunteers
  • cultural sector workers
  • community participants
  • private enterprise
  • not-for-profit organisations.

Nominations from the film sector, local government and regional organisations are encouraged.

important information

All previous applicants are encouraged to re-apply.  Previous shortlisted nominees and winners can re-nominate in this category.

Nominations can be made in more than one category, but separate nominations must be submitted.

By entering the Ruby Awards you are conferring on Arts SA the right to use your application material for awards-related promotional purposes including display and publicity. Nominees may be contacted in July to arrange a photo-shoot. These images will be used for an audiovisual presentation during the event.

Where appropriate winners are requested to display the Ruby 2011 logo on promotional material.

The Ruby Awards judges reserve the right to move a nomination into another category if deemed more appropriate and at their discretion to nominate additional people for consideration in the Premier’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

The judges’ decision is final and no further discussion will be entered into. Arts SA will not provide feedback to unsuccessful nominations.

Support material will be returned on request.

The 2011 short list will be announced in The Advertiser on Saturday 20 August 2011.

Invitations will be issued to all finalists to attend the presentation event on Friday 9 September 2011 in the Banquet Room, Adelaide Festival Centre. Each finalist will be entitled to two complimentary tickets.
